I would like to see the Profit % as a column on sales lines that compare cost to actual price on that specific order to calculate the profit %.

Can this be done with Base BC or will it need to me a modification?

Thanks

Hi Mike - To the best of my understanding if you want such a column on sales lines, you'll have to go for a customization. However, if you open Sales Order there is a page called Statistics which has a field Profit %, see if it helps

The actual price will only be know to the system once the Sales Shipment is posted, and Outbound Item Ledger Entry is applied to Inbound entry, and the process "Adjust Cost - Item Entries" has been finished (either run manually or if Automatic Cost adjustment is turned on in Inventory setup then at time of posting the shipment).

So until shipment is posted, system could try to calculate approximate profit based on last purchase cost.

As Rahul mentioned - in the FactBox there is a field that shows this Profit field from the Item Card - but it works if You have fixed price for item in the Item card.

Appreciate the input, i am aware of the Statistics function which is only total order profit %. This won't resolve my challange.

statistics shows total order profit, but if You look at the right side (Fact Boxes) - if hidden, press on the round "i" button to display.

Anyway this field does not update if You change the Unit Price in Sales line - so You have to add a custom field, but You can look how it is done in the fact box and adjust it, to take the Unit price from the Sales line in the calculation and the Standard or Unit cost from the Item card - just like in the FactBox.

KasparsSemjonovs Thank you! I will continue with a small mod to add this function in our environment.
