I have a multiselect picklist that I want to show in an email in a process.  I understand this cannot be done by simply selecting the field.

Can the picklist be copied to a plain text field using jscript or some other method?  Does anyone have any sample code?  THANKS!

I have the same question (0)

    Hi DawnK,

You can create an automated flow to copy Multiselect picklist to a plain text field automatically.

Here are steps. (For example, I have two fields in Account entity).

     pastedimage1620021594874v1.png

1.Go power automate(https://us.flow.microsoft.com/en-us/) to create an automated flow.

    2.Set Trigger.

3.Add action 'Get a row by ID'

    pastedimage1620022107400v4.png

    3.Add 'Compose' action.

you can copy following function and replace multiselect field logic name.

    outputs('Get_a_row_by_ID')?['body/new_multiselectpicklist@OData.Community.Display.V1.FormattedValue']

    pastedimage1620022380641v5.png

    4.Add 'Update a row' action

    5.Test.

Leah - thank you so much for the detailed instructions!  I sure do appreciate it!

Unfortunately I cannot get it to work.  The text field is being filled with the text:

    outputs('Get_a_row_by_ID')?['body/new_swapprovedswmultilookup@OData.Community.Display.V1.FormattedValue']

Any ideas what I did wrong?  THANKS!

    Hi DawnK,

Not copying value i provided and paste it into in the 'compose' step directly.

    pastedimage1621244659087v1.png

You need firstly click '+Add dynamic content' and navigate to 'Expression' tab in the dialog.

    pastedimage1621244740561v2.png

Then you can paste value in it and click ok button

Finally, result should like following screenshot:

Hi Leah, thanks for your response.  My Compose does not offer the "Add Dynamic Content" so that's why I put the code there.

    Hi

Did you resolve this? I'm stuck at the same point - entering the text as per the example into the Expression box, returns invalid expression when I click OK.

    Cheers

    Jules
