Hi:

Where are the SmartLists in Business Central that are similar to those of Dynamics GP?

Thanks!

    Hi,

You can use Tiles features. The above feature is not available in standard system.

    Hi,

As you know in MS Dynamics GP, you use Smartlist to get a list of a the records, in Business Central, the approach is that when ever you search for something, the system will open a list.

So the differences in summary are:

    - In MS Dynamics GP, the Smartlist is a centralized location to open multiple lists (Customers Vendors...etc), In Business Central, the lists are divided among pages (Customers Only, Vendors Only)...etc.

    - In MS Dynamics GP you can create a smartlist and assign a "customer" query in Business Central you can't do that without customizations.

    - In MS Dynamics GP you can search , in Business Central you can search and filter (MS Dynamics GP = Business Central Filter).

    - In Both, you can save your favourites, export to Excel, export to word, show or hide columns...etc

So to answer your question "Smartlist" in Business Central is everywhere. there is no dedicated page called "SmartList", If you want to open the "SmartList" for the Chart of Accounts, Search for "Chart of Accounts", If you want to open the "smartlist" for "Customer", search for "Customers" and open the related link.

I will be posting an article related to this subject here www.businesscentral.page in two days

    Hope that helps

Hi, Microsoft has been working on adding this feature since a long time ago, but it's not currently available in BC.

In BC, developers can use Query to achieve similar functions, but this is relatively complicated and requires development experience.

    For example: https://yzhums.com/3206/

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.
