Visual Studio - Synchronize is not doing anything

I downloaded a new virtual machine at D365FO version 10.0.37 from LCS. In Visual Studio 2019, when I right-click a project and select Synchronize <project-name> with database, nothing seems to happen. By that, I mean that I don't see anything happening in the Output window. How can I fix this?

Also, this machine has Visual Studio 2022 as well as Visual Studio 2019.  My previous machine (10.0.32) had only Visual studio 2019. Should I be using Visual Studio 2022?
I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

you can synchronize the database through PowerShell in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.
    K:\AOSService\webroot\bin\Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.Deployment.Setup.exe
    -bindir "K:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory"
    metadatadir "K:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory"
-sqluser "axdbadmin" -sqlserver "." -sqldatabase "AxDB"
    -setupmode "sync" -syncmode "fullall"
    -isazuresql "false" -sqlpwd "*"
    -logfilename "H:\MSSQL_LOGS\AxDB_log.log"

    Best regards,

    Thanks, Mohamed.

This looks like a full database synchronisation. I am interested in synchronising a single Visual Studio project.

    Hi Community member,

I normally sync the project following these steps:

    1. Right click on your project
    2. select properties
    3. set "synchronize DB on build" as true
    4. right click on the project and select re-build

    Thanks,
    Layan Jweihan

Thanks, Layan. That worked. I am still concerned that I don't see what the compiler is doing in the Output window. There is a line at the bottom of the Visual Studio (where there is a green progress indicator) where eventually I saw the word 'synchronizing' briefly before it disappeared. However, the important thing is that I see my changes when I view the object in the D365 user interface.
