Make address mandatory in a specific company

Hello,
is there a way to make an Address mandatory generally in only a specific company?
For example, do I need to write some code separatelly in all the forms where the Address (LogisticsPostalAddress) is used or I can write it at one place and it will be applied to every table where Address is used?

    Hi Johnny,

It is not possible to make an address mandatory as it is a separate table storing postal addresses. When creating e.g. a vendor, you will need to have the vendor record saved before you can add an address. After the vendor is saved, there is no trigger to require a record in a related table.

When you create a new customer, a dialog pops up. On such dialog, you can add validations to have an address filled before saving the details and close the dialog. You can consider to create similar creation dialogs and add address validations.

You can also have a look at the ISV solution for Master data management from Staedean. This includes a data entry workflow feature where you can configure data entry pages and make specific information mandatory before completing the step.

Note that after creation of a customer including an address it is currently possible to delete addresses. You will then also need a validation that at least one primary address remains for the party.

Also note that in case you are reusing the same party at a customer in two different legal entities where in one company the address is mandatory and the other not, the validation for deleting an address should be checking more than just only the current company.

    Hi,

What you could do is creating a Power Automate flow that checks if the address is empty\blank after a vendor is created and then send a Teams message or email to the creator of the vendor.

    Kind regards, Adis
