Preview report in Report Builder or Visual Studio

Hi,

I'm not sure if its possible to preview reports, RDC and RDCL (or even Word),  before importing into BC.

    Hi,

    I don't think this is possible at the moment.

    You need to publish the report to BC (a sandbox for example) to be able to run it.

    The same is true for al other AL-development, to see any reqults, you need to publish your app to a sandbox and run it on there. This can for example be a Saas sandbox, or a docker environment or an onprem environment.

    What I'm looking for is a way to preview within Visual studio instead of importing back to BC, same way as traditional on-prem SSRS development where you can preview without publishing to report server

    Yes it is possible go to report selections then select the report required and then the custom reports

    • You export the report
    • You edit the report and when happy save
    • You import the report and apply
