Removing Access to Pages and Reports from Permission Sets

Hello everyone,

I have a scenario that I will need to remove the access to Chart of Account and financial reports for majority of BC users.   I have done some research and it seems I need to copy the permission set (for example, 'D365 Basic', or 'D365 Bus Prem', or 'D365 Purch Doc, Edit' etc) and remove access to specific Pages (e.g. Page COA 16, COA overview 634, G/L list 18, Acc Schedule 104,103) .   My questions are:

1. How to assess the impact on existing users and their routine activities in BU after I restrict their access to these Pages? I just would like to remove their review access to COA and financial report but not want to impact their access to create orders, view customer invoice or post customer payments etc.

2. What is the best practice to handle such a change impact most of the team?  How to identify which permission sets that is currently granting the the full access to pages so that I can  copy and remove the ones that required?

3. Any documentation, articles that will be helpful, Thank you.

Thank you for your kind help in advance !

    Hello,

Maybe the permission set recorder functionality may help you further?

    Thanks.

    Hey,

To keep users out of Chart of Accounts you need to look in their permission set and set TableData  G/L Account to Indirect in the Read column if it is in their set.(Example below of me disabling it in a set for users)

You can also do a recording of a permission but double check to make sure this permission is set to read if it adds it in after the recording.

This is the exact line to fix in the permission set if they have it in their set

    Hope this helps

    Thanks,
