Users unable to click checkmark to complete tasks

We have had an issue crop up recently.  Several users are unable to click on the small checkmark on tasks in the timeline in order to mark them as complete.  It's as if the checkmark is greyed out.  The only way to mark the task as complete is to open the task record completely and then click on /Mark as done/.   The other strange thing is that I am unable to replicate this and a few other users do not have the problem.  All have the same permissions.   Anyone else experiencing this?  On 2023 release wave 2 enabled

Client version: 1.4.6825-2310.5

    Hi,
     
    I am using the Sales trial version.
    I have not encountered the issue you describe in my testing.
     
    You can disable the Close Activity command in the Timeline control and then enable it again.
    Then, go back to the sales application to see if the command has taken effect.
