Incoming Email reply - Owner

Hi,


If I have a case that's owned by "Admin" and me "John Smith" sends an email to that customer in an effort to resolve the case. If the customer responds to John smiths email the owner of the email response is Admin and not John Smith. Is there anyway for CRM to set the owner of the recieved Activity Record to the User that sent out the original email?

    Hi JM,

    Do you have any logic behind setting owner or you want it to be defaulted to John Smith?

    You can achieve this using a workflow. On creation of email entity record, assign the record to the owner you want.

    Also, if it is sent for any specific case, then the case must be available in regarding field of the email record. So you can use that field to fetch original owner of the case.

    I would say that you need to create a workflow that updates the Activity based on the last modified by (if a new activity is created)

    I've jsut done some further testing and even if John SMith is both the Owner and the User that sent the email, the responses are still owned by Admin
