Hi all,

I’m currently deploying a new Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations cloud-hosted development box (10.0.43 version) using a D12 VM instance. The deployment has been running for more than 8 hours and still isn’t complete. I’m used to these taking several hours, but this seems unusually long—even for a Tier 1 dev environment.

Has anyone else experienced such extended deployment times recently?
Here’s some more context:

Deployment initiated from LCS, status stuck on "Deploying"
VM size: D12
Azure region has available capacity (no errors about VM size/region)
This is a fresh deployment, not an update or redeploy

I know the docs mention that deployments can take up to 6 hours, and some community posts suggest 4–8 hours is normal25. But crossing the 8-hour mark seems excessive, especially since I haven't seen any explicit errors.

Depending on the computation demand of everyone using the cloud, operations can sometimes take longer than expected.

Hi NS-21051237-0,

Recommendation is to keep the VM Size to a D13 configuration, but performance wise would recommend keeping the VM Size to a D13 V2 (considering the speed of the VM). Ideally it takes about 6-7 hours for the VM to be up and running.
