Retail Configuration with D365 Finance and operation on premises

Hi Guys need help on this 

Upgraded Application from PU12 7.3 to pu20 8.1  build model with 8.1, ran Data upgrade package on Dev VM, deployed environment 8.1 with upgraded model, restored data upgraded Database from Dev VM.

Now for retail configuration we are following the following Documentation.

Step 3 and 4 were quite ambiguous, but we have downloaded the latest Binary update, extracted Retail Self Service Packages from the update and copy the setups mentioned in the file share folder as mentioned ,also applied the binary to the environment .

Now while configuring RSSU, from this

On step 8 it says

On the Store Scale Unit package Fast Tab, in the Name field, select the appropriate Retail Store Scale Unit package.

Each environment generates a base Retail Store Scale Unit package. Therefore, this field always contains at least one option.

The Field is Blank in our case and nothing is in Retailselfservice package info table and we cannot download the setup from the application, some key value are also missing from RSSU configuration file,

although the documentation for this is updated and i have tried the resolution mentioned there , but still the same issue

    Hi Sarfaraz,

    You are right, I am also stuck on step 3 and 4. Still searching for the retail components package in LCS but unable to find it.

    can you please guide from where I can download the "binary update" as there is only one tile "Updates" in environment.

    you can extract Retail self service packages from Demo VM and you can also download this from shared Asset Library  , download latest General Availability Update , extract the package inside  you will find retailselfservice folder , it contains all the setups , let us know if you manged to get it running , for us things got stuck , its very strange that Microsoft has denied support on this issue as per their new policy

    Hi Sarfaraz,

    Try to run db sync for downloadable package issue and many thanks for the instructions to download binary updates, now am stuck at point 6 (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/unified-operations/dev-itpro/deployment/deploy-retail-onprem) where I need to create retail application in ADFS.

    The issue is in "Create-ADFSServerApplicationForRetail.ps1" line 51 where 'New-D365FOAdfsServerApplicationForRetail-HostUrl:$HostUrl' is incorrect. ApplicationForRetail(just 1 space)-HostUrl.

    Now the issue resolve

    are you using Contoso database ?

    I am stuck at Initialize in retail parameters, when I click on initialize "Encryption error occured".

    The following information was included with the event:

    No certificate found for id '7366E25DC94FA8A400FA0037FFF3BB300D9482D4'. (unknown thumbprint)

    GetCryptoServiceProviderByThumbprintBuffer
    at Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.Configuration.CertificateHandler.CertificateHandlerBase.GetCertificatesForIdFromLocalStore(String id)
    at Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.Configuration.CertificateHandler.CertificateHandlerBase.GetFirstCertificateForId(String id)
    at Microsoft.Dynamics.Ax.Xpp.Security.EncryptionEngine.GetCryptoServiceProviderByThumbprintBuffer(String idList, Byte[] thumbprint).

    I found this thumbprint in web.config (C:\SF\AOS_157\Fabric\work\Applications\AXSFType_App12\AXSF.Code.1.0.20190130113446)

    <add key="DataAccess.DataEncryptionCertificateThumbprint" value="7366E25DC94FA8A400FA0037FFF3BB300D9482D4" />

    I have updated the thumbprint with my actual Data Encryption Certificate Thumbprint on all AOS but issue is still the same.

    Experts, please guide how to resolve this thumbprint issue..!

    Dear Junaid,

    Try to export the certificate from D365 Local downloaded VM with name "DataEncryptionCertificate" which has the same thumbprint and install it in On Local machine\My store in all the AOS.

    After the issues were not resolved with Contoso DB, I have removed the environment and used the blank database.

    Now stuck on step 8, : On the Store Scale Unit package Fast Tab, in the Name field, select the appropriate Retail Store Scale Unit package.

    upon checking in AXDB, dbo.RETAILSELFSERVICEPACKAGEINFO table is empty.

    anyone faced the similar issue ?

    Dear Junaid,

    Below is the information from RETAILCONNDATABASEPROFILE which contains the RSSU package info, out put without header from the table. Try initializing and sync to get this info automated.

    Once this is completed, we need to manually update below info in RSSU Config file.

    • StoreSystemAosUrl
    • AADTokenIssuerPrefix
    • TransactionServiceAzureAuthority
    • TransactionServiceAzureResource

    Did you get RetailSelfServicePackageInfo record after initializing. I didn't get that in On Premises environment.
