Duplicate entires in the GL10001 table in GP10

Posted on by 25

What is the real purpose of table GL10001 in GP10?

Also, why could there be double entries (rows) for the same item, same document, but 2 different journal entry numbers?

Any help will be much appreciated.

    Hi Dilip,

The table GL10001 is used for storing the distribution lines for unposted journal entries. By same document do you mean same originating document numbers?

There can be different reasons for different journal entries with same originating document numbers:

    1. Voided transaction: A transaction voided transaction from a sub ledger will have separate journal entry number. One for original transaction and another for reversing transaction

    2. Two transactions posted from two different sub ledgers like Receivable and payables can have different document numbers. You can use the series to differentiate  such transactions
