Default login does not work after installing Feature Pack 2

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I am having the problem login to SO Manager after installing Feature Pack 2 (2.0.1000). I created the new database from sample db provided in RMS 2.0, connect configured and tested ok in SO Admin. But when I open the SO Manager for login, I use default login user name  "1" and password "password", it says that the cashier not found. Could anybody help me on this.

If you run the RMS 2.0 installer (2.0.0105) and create a sample database, the default login listed in the RMS training workbook of "1" and "password" will work.

If you update RMS to any version higher than SP2 (2.0.0116), the login must be "1" and "Password' since case sensitivity was added.

The training workbook is incorrect in this regard.

Perhaps the topic of this thread should be changed to "Why doesn't the default login of 1 and password work on the RMS sample database?"

why is everyone answering the question in regards to SP 2 (service pack 2). The question pertains to FP2 (feature pack 2).   What am I missing here?????

I stand corrected. I had a feeling that change happened before FP2.

    Pappu,

    Thank you for your post.

Like Benv stated in his comment the default password is Password. The only correction would be that it was actually Service Pack 2 that made the change the password policy, which in turn changed the default RMS password to be case-sensitive on the letter P.

I have included a section from Service Pack 4's download page.

"Microsoft Dynamics RMS 2.0 SP2 included changes to password policy management. For more information, see the Microsoft Dynamics RMS Implementation Guide for PCI Compliance download in the Support Information section later on this page."

    Thanks,

    Nicole

Passwords are case-sensitive after SP2 and the P in Password is capitalized.

(edited to change FP2 to SP2)
