Hello,

we have 3 sales team and each team has sales manager for single business unit.

Have created security for sales manager and sales person and deployed.

Now issue is, Sales person cannot see other team lead which is working fine but Sales manager able to see all lead of his team and others too. We do not want sales manager should not see other team leads.

I did tried with team owner based and access based concept but no luck.

WE want Sales manager should see only his team records not other team, how can we do this ?

Please help.

Regards

Faisal

    Hi,

It looks like you have the organization level  privilege set for sales manager which is why other team leads are visible.

What is the difference between dales person & manager in terms og security?

Will it work if you provide the salesperson role to manager as well?

Could you please share a screenshot?

    Hi,

Not sure there is any way to simply use owner teams / individual security roles to set up user-manager hierarchy. That's what hierarchy security is for:

    technet.microsoft.com/.../dn832142.aspx

Or, alternatively, you can put those groups of users in the different business units. Then every "manager" might have business-unit permissions to see records owner by the subordinate users, but managers in different business units won't see each other's records.

And you can also use sharing, which I think is the last resort(probably using teams, too).. although, it also depends on how much sharing you'll need to do.

    Hi Ravi,

Difference between sales person is they are lowest level just to do task.

Sales manager just need to assign and maintain leads.

Now we have 4 teams because each sales manager works difference region like america, europe.

    Yes, privilege is org level.

    Hi alex,

i tied with BU concept as well but no luck, because all bu root is same.

Could you clarify this: "all bu root is same"?

With the business units, you just need to put your users in the corresponding BU-s then give managers a role that allows BU-level access and sales persons a role that allows user-owned access. And, then, assign leads to the sales persons.

    Hi Syed,

    Please configure like below,

I am assuming you have 3 different Business unit(like america(BU1), India(BU2), China(BU3)) under your main business unit that is Default (BU)

In BU1 you have 3 sales person SP1,SP2,SP3 and you have one Sales Manager SM1.

Now go to the SP1,SP2,SP3 one by one in Setting-->User--SP1/SP2/Sp3 and in the ribbon you will see option to "Set Manager", you can set manager for all the 3 sales person as SM1.

Now same way you can configure for BU india and China.

Note :  Make sure that all the Sales Manager(SM1/SM2/SM3) having BU level of privilege for lead.

I am sure than Sales manager wont be able to see the lead of other BU.

    Best Regards,

    Shahbaaz

    Hi Shahbaaz,

    Thanks for the best explanation.

Before i do the testing, let me explain the current scenario how we have.

We just have 1 BU and under 1 BU there are 3 SM.

Now each SM has 3 SP, here is the trick to do.

How to restrict access between SM under 1 BU ? is this possible to do ?

    Regards

    Faisal

@Alex, this is the answer from my side

Just for more understanding, 1 BU has 3 Regions like America, China, India.

Of course, our company has 4 separate companies as well. which i don't want to mess up here.

    Hi,

Thanks for all the help, Issue is resolved.

Thanks Alex, your solution worked out "hierarchy security ",

    What i have done is.

Created 2 separate roles for Sales manager and Sales Person. Both has JUST user lever access and i have NOT assigned BU access.

On the hierarchy security, gave 2 depth and It is working beautifully perfect.
