How to have workflow execute only during business hours

Hello,

I would like to have this functionality for a workflow:

If the current time is after hours, or weekends, put a wait on the process until business hours.

I am finding that I cannot create this with OTB MSCRM. What is required for this functionality? What are my best options? A Tool? Plugin/JavaScript?

Thank you!

Schweep

    Hello,

    I think that the best choice for you (because you use workflows) is usage of custom workflow activities.

    Hello Schweep;

    I wonder why you'd look to do this; was the intended approach so user's aren't receiving emails/working afterhours? There certainly isn't anything that comes out of the box for this in terms of this type of requirement.

    As Andrii has said a Custom workflow activity could work; but I'd definitely recommend more then just that as a solution if this was something you absolutely needed. A custom entity to specify the business hours/work days. Something you could configure in each environment and would also allow the customer to configure themselves without a code change. Or even using the configuration of workdays/hours out of the box for CRM.

    Thanks for posting this question Schweep!

    What do you mean by "custom workflow activity"?

    Thank you,

    Hello Schweep;

    It's much like a plugin as it's done using C# or more back end coding. I'd recommend you read about it in the MSDN and SDK at msdn.microsoft.com/.../gg309745.aspx
