I installed GP 10 2010 year end update and had nothing but problems. I have backup of my company database run daily but it copies over itself so i only have on working copy. I could not log into company so i went to restore today and my backup has no data in it can i do a system restore to an earlier date? will that bring back my backup file from yesterday? Or is there any other backups lurking in the system?

You can restore from a Windows Backup (as I understand you mean by system restore). How did you restore a company database, in GP or SSMS? If SSMS, did you check the overwrite option? As I understand there's no such "automatic" backup that's lurking in the system. You got to config the backup to have a backup. We have a daily database backup (from osql) and a weekly Windows NT backup. Make sure to restore your company database backup to an "alternative" location. If the version of your company database from "system backup" is lower than current GP built, run the Utilities to bring it up-to-date.
