Management Reporter Full Account Code in Link to Financial Dimensions

We recently migrated from FRx to Management Reporter and we are accustomed to using the full account code in the link to financial dimensions.  This made it easy to copy and paste lists of full account codes directly from Excel in to the row sets.  Now that we are maintaining Managment Report Row Definitions, we are finding the "Link to Financial Dimensions" to be a bit cumbersome with the necessity to prefix each account segment with the segment name.

We used to type something like this: 0-00-0000-0-0

Now we type this: +Segment1 = [0], Segment2= [00], Segment3= [0000], Segment4= [0], Segment5= [0]

We can create formulas in excel to concatenate all of these values, but we are hoping there is a configuration setting or keyword that would allow us to specify the full account code (or account alias).  Is there something we can toggle or configure to allow account codes instead of the dimensions?

I think in this instance you're missing some of the functional differences between FRx and Management Reporter.  Please take a look at this video clip (about 5 minutes in) the presenter gets into the area of account selection.  Just looking at the image will be instructive as to why [01,04,07,21,23,66] did not work.  You can use ranges with a : and/or add and subtract segments using +/-  but you have to let Management Reporter know which Segment you are targeting.

I have worked with numerous companies over the past two years to transition them from FRx to MR.  It normally takes between 1-4 hours, depending on the complexity of the reporting requirements to make the transition (explain the differences), while assisting with the production of the Core Balance Sheet and Income Statement, which form the foundation for most company's reporting needs.

I have yet to encounter a need FRx satisfies, which Management Reporter does not.

Did you ever figure this out?  If not, when in the report viewer go to View --> Dimension Descriptions and make sure it is not checked.

We are having the same issue. Accounting may have 20+ different GL accounts that feed into a row called "admin payroll" for example.

You are only limited to 8 rows though. (amazingly stupid design imho).

Also, like in your example for your account structure, if I use, for example, segment 5 and enter [01,04,07,21,23,66] , no data shows.

Extremely frustrating. FRx is so much better imho.
