Send as Attachment Email from Word / Excel Error

 We recently just rolled out Update 7 to our user base and I'm getting feedback that people can no longer do the "Send as Attachment" feature from Word or Excel?  I experience the same problem and get stuck in an error loop.  Has anyone else seen this? Have a fix for it? Please help!

    Hi Dennis,

     What error are users getting?  We have not heard of any issues that are related to word/excel send as attachment as a result of crm update rollups.

    Hi Alex and Dennis,

    I am having the same issue trying to send an email from Word : File / Send To / Mail Recipient (as Attachment) after installing CRM. The Word email sending feature was working before we installed CRM Dynamics 4.0 roll-up 7, but does not work since the installation. Symptoms are that Word is closing itself.

    Any ideas about the solution?

    I realize this is a very old thread, but I just encountered this very same issue today myself.  After multiple searches on the internet, this is the only thread I can find on the subject.

    I have an XP machine with SP3.  It is loaded with office 2003 SP3.  When trying to send a word doc as an attachment to an email from within Word, Word simply closes without warning, no message, no anything.  If I try to send an Excel sheet as an attachment from within Excel, I get five errors.  Excel closes and immediately re-opens with the worksheet I was previously in showing as a 'recovered' document.

    The errors all contain similar details:

    EventType: crmunmanaged  P1 : 4.0.733.21.38  P2 : excel.exe  P3 : 270

    P4 : c_bt_13487_application_outlook_abpro0vider_cobjectcontainer.cpp

    After seeing this post, I concluded I was having a similar issue with Rollup 7.  I uninstalled CRM 4.0 from the affected PC altogether.  The problem resolved, I could send an Excel sheet as an attachment.  I re-installed CRM 4.0.  The problem did NOT re-appear.  I then installed update rollup 7 and the problem DID re-appear, I could no longer send the Excel sheet as an attachment.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
