Hello

Please help me to Update If there is any way to update auto post gl through inventory. I checked two options on inventory control setup. POST TO GL and POST THROUGH GENRAL..After that when any inventory document is posted thru transaction entry then I can view the GL in GL entry but remains unposted.

Hi Steven,

Can you please confirm the following. You have selected post through GL on series Inventory and Origin-All. What type of inventory document you have posted, is it item transaction entry. If so after you post your inventory transaction the GL batch is created under financial and not posted, whether it has all valid distribution accounts.

If you are quite sure that both "Post To" and "Post Through" GL are checked on the inventory series for the specific transaction type, then the system is not posting to GL due to one of the following:

On the setup level, the option to "Allow Transaction Posting" is checked, and you are posting transactions not batches. In such case, the journal entries will not post through GL, they will post to GL regardless of the fact that you have already checked "Post To" and "Post Through". That is the behavior of the system since ages, transaction posting doesn't post through GL

Another possible option is that the financial period you are posting to is closed, while it is open for the inventory module. In such a case, you will be able to post the transaction on the inventory module, while the associated journals will not post. The general ledger posting report will notify you of this case with a warning message

The inventory module, among all, has an option on the batch level which overrides the posting setup. There is a check box to post through GL. If this is unchecked, the journals will not post to GL regardless of your inventory posting setup

Hello Steven!

I completely agree with what Mahmoud has mentioned. If the transactions are not in a batch then they will not post through the General Ledger. The user will need to make sure they post the General Ledger side as well.

Thanks Mahmoud. System allows transactions in a batches to post through GL. It worked. Now all I need to post an inventory transaction through E connect such that batch containing transaction should also be posted thru GL automatically. Application is working fine, creating inventory transaction document with a batch, posting the document through e connect by directly invoking inventory batch posting screen but GL doesn't gets posted and if inventory adjustment is done manually, it works well. Also verified with column posttogl value 1 of sy00500 table while posting.
