Deactivate Contacts based on Account

Hi all,

I'm using a portal to display some content from our Dynamics instance. Our customers access content using the contacts in Dynamics. If a customer leaves us we want to disable the account and all linked contacts.

Is this possible using a workflow?

I know it can be done manually but we want it automated.

Thanks,
J

Hi. You could either have a custom status (for the customer leaving) that triggers a custom workflow activity to run, change the account to inactive and finds all related contacts and also makes them inactive. Or just have it run on the deactivation of the record

    Hi,

    Something along these lines:

    community.dynamics.com/.../how-to-cascade-activate-deactivate-setstate-in-crm

I assume this can be achieved without the need for a third party solution?

    Thanks,

    J

    Hi,

You either can write your own custom workflow or plugin, else use the third party( there is a risk).

trigger the workflow or plugin when status changed, then query all those related contacts, and deactivate them.

    Hi,

I think custom workflow is the answer, for now though we just have a grid on the accounts form where someone can manually deactivate them by selecting multiple (Bulk Deactivate).

The workflow will be used in a next step.

    Thanks,

    J
