How should the Dimension Combinations Matrix be configured. I cannot find any documentation on it. Our Company has two divisions: UT and CA and I would like three departments: Sales, Production and Administration.  How do I configure this?

I have the same question (0)

    Hello,

Sorry that you couldn't find this information! It's a gap on our side, and we'll add guidance in our upcoming refresh of the docs at madeira.microsoft.com/.../finance-dimensions

As Chris mentions, the Dimension Combinations matrix is for restricting specific combinations of dimensions. Is this what you are trying to acchieve? If not, my recommendation would be to set up two dimensions: Division and Department. The Division dimension would have two dimension values, and the Department dimension would have 3 dimension values.

In either case, my team will provide better examples of how to use dimensions in the upcoming update.

    Hello,

The following link has a good description of why you would set up Dimension Combinations.

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh168803(v=nav.90).aspx

It basically allows you to block or limit specific combinations of dimensions.  If you do not have any limitations to how your dimensions are used you can ignore this window.  No limitations is the default for all dimensions.

    Thanks,

    Chris
