Dear Experts,

I created a product after creating that product I delete the item number by mistake. Now, I want to create a new product with that old number the system is throwing the above error as shown in images. "The number has already been assigned to a product. Specify a new number". Even the item number is not available on the item list as well as on the SQL server DB.

Best Regards,

Shabir Ahmad

    Hi,

Go to "All products and product master", select that Item and click on Release button then next screen will open where you can select entities (single or multiples based on requirement) then click on next button and finish.

Resultant your Product/Product Master will release in that particular entity.

I had same issue and resolved by Option 1. Go to "All products and product master", find the same product and release it again to the legal entity. that will create the record in released products. Then you can come to released products form and add all details as needed. Thanks

    Hi shabir,

If number sequence is generated then you can't be create the item with same number because this item number already used .

    Hi Shabir,

You are currently on released products form. Here is how system works to get you better idea:

    1. When you create product directly in released products, it get created in released products as well as product master form/tables.

    2. When you delete from released products, it gets deleted from released products but not from product master.

    3. If you create same product again in released products, you will get the error message that you got above.

    Here are your options:

Option 1. Go to "All products and product master", find the same product and release it again to the legal entity. that will create the record in released products. Then you can come to released products form and add all details as needed.

Option 2. Go to 'All products and product master", find the same product and delete it. Then go back to released products and then you should be able to create the new products from there without any issues.

Please let us know if you face any issues. Thank you.

    Thanks,

    Satish Panwar

When you create a product, systems creates record in multiple tables. You would have clean all involved tables.
