Activate Store Commerce Failed on Local VM

Posted on by 4
I have downloaded vhd from lcs and made it run locally on hyper vm. I am able to access cpos setup was completed successfully. Now I have downloaded Store Commerce from LCS, my version is 10.0.37. I installed it using command: .\StoreCommerce.Installer.exe Install --installoffline --trustsqlservercertificate, after successful installation, while running it I am getting this error, retail server and everything is running fine.

DA3001 - A connectivity error has occurred and your device can't connect to the server. This may be due to one or more of the following reasons. Contact your system administrator.
  • The server URL typed may have some issues, check for typo errors or if it matches the HTTP protocol of the server.
  • Server can't be reached because it is offline;
  • The Application pool has stopped. Restart the pool and try again;
  • The Server host name can't be resolved because the DNS can't be reached;
  • Server is actively refusing the connection because the port you are using is not allowed through the firewall;
  • The local system doesn't have network connectivity;
  • The local system firewall is blocking outgoing connections. Add a firewall exception for the application.
  • Server is not from the same origin of local system so the request is blocked by Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS).

     Your CSU seems to be OK. However, POS is not able to communicate with the CSU. This will be due to two reasons.

    1.  SSL certificate trust : Since you are able to use CPOS it should not be the case. But make sure that there are no trust issues, as I can see edge showing "Not Secure".

    2.  Loopback exemption may be required : If POS and CSU are running on the same machine, you might need to add POS application to loopback exemption for the POS to be able to access local resources. This was requirement for MPOS, not sure about store commerce. You can use the below tool to check if store commerce is showing in that list. Windows 8 AppContainer Loopback Utility :  https://telerik-fiddler.s3.amazonaws.com/fiddler/addons/enableloopbackutility.exe

    If you are not keen on trying offline functionality or in app mode, you can install store commerce in hybrid mode which will load the CPOS in SCA shell. To install SCA in hybrid mode, uninstall current installation and  use the following command for installation.

    .\StoreCommerce.Installer.exe Install --useremoteappcontent --trustsqlservercertificate

    1. Can you verify the format of the Commerce URL you input in the first step.

    It should be a https:// URL ending with /Commerce. It might look like below : https://usnconeboxax1ret.cloud.onebox.dynamics.com/Commerce

    2. Can you do health check on the CSU to make sure that there are no issues on the server side ?

    Refer below blog on how to check this one.

    On a demo VM, the URL may look like https://usnconeboxax1ret.cloud.onebox.dynamics.com/Commerce/healthcheck?testname=ping

    In the event viewer I am getting this error only:

    WebView event: ViewsCloudDeviceActivationViewActivationFailed
    The device activation operation failed. usedPreActivatedToken: false
    {
      "usedPreActivatedToken": false
    }
