Inter-company Master Planning and inventory status code

Hi,

We have 2 legal entities: Spain and Germany. We have a product X123 for which demand is created in Spain but the product is supplied on an inter-company relationship from Germany (Germany is the default vendor for this product for the Spanish legal entity)

The problem we have is that for X123 we want to plan by inventory status - so on both companies X123 has a storage dimension where coverage includes inventory status code.

When we run Inter company master planning we are encountering an error in the German site. This is what we did...

  1. In Spain we added a forecast for item X123 - inventory status = available
  2. Set the storage dimension group to WHS which includes inventory status
  3. released and set up X123 in a similar manner in Germany
  4. Ran inter company master planning on both entities with 2 reiterations - Spain then Germany
  5. Planned order is created in Spain for the forecast quantity
  6. Inter company master planning returned an error for X123 : A value for the required coverage planned storage dimension inventory status could not be found for product X123 in company Germany. No planned inter company demand has been created

Does D365FO support inter company master planning for inventory status ?

Any thoughts and suggestions will be gratefully received

    Hi Moribund,

On the Storage dimension group in company Germany, check that the Inventory status line has Coverage plan by dimension ticked.

    Hi Moribund,

There is an open issue for this - see KB450464.

    Hello,

I faced a similar issue, but in my case the error was related to the warehouse. I was able to resolve it by unchecking the Warehouse option in the storage dimension for coverage plan. You can try the same approach by unchecking the Inventory status option.

    Thanks,
    Austin
