Problems with Cashdraw and Store operations POS 2.0

Hello All

I am rather new to administering Store Operations Manager / POS 2.0 which is used by a new client I have.

They are having an issue with the cash drawer not opening during transactions. So far we have been in contact with Epson (the receipt printer is an TM-T88V and the cash drawer is attached to the printer via a DK port) Epson are certain that the printer and cash drawer are configured correct (Configured by software called OPAS ST-A10).

Using software that came with the Epson printer we are able to manually open the cash drawer using the testing feature but the draw will not open from Store Operations POS at all.

Are there any specific settings that need to be setup in Store operations manager that I might be missing. I have configured the Cash Drawer under the register properties in Store Operations manager along with the receipt printer already.

Any help would be fantastic

    Hi Maxit,

I've seen a number of cases where the voltage doesn't seem to be enough to pop the drawer.  If you're using OPOS, you can set PIN2 or PIN5 and a length of time for the pulse.  Tweak these settings as required.  Don't rely on the OPOS test to verify that the drawer is working - try it in RMS.  In most of these cases, when it will open in RMS< it won't open in the OPOS.

If you are using Windows drivers, you may need to program the ASCII ESC codes to open the drawer into the driver.

    Good luck!
