Hi,

Several folks in my organisation got the mail "Your mailbox is now connected to  dynamics 365" mail.

It states

Dear ...,

An organization administrator connected your mailbox to Dynamics 365.

You can now track emails in Dynamics 365 and sync appointments and link activities to Dynamics 365 records.

To protect your privacy, we don’t automatically track email. You can track emails manually, or set rules for automated tracking in your personal options.

Yes it is. Actually this is much better than the previous message that used to look very suspicious. Normally, this message is a good sign the mailbox is working as expected and it happens after you Click Enable Mailbox on the mailbox record.

This is informative. Thanks. I need more!

I'm curious, why does the mail seem to emanate from the user's mailbox and not the server?

    Hi,

It does come from the user mailbox. It is a test message , when you want to test a mail server, you can email yourself to see if the sending/receiving is working. This is what they do. Also, we have to understand that Dynamics is just an abstraction on top of Exchange and doesn't send/receive emails by itself. So Dynamics asks Exchange to test a specific mailbox by sending a message to itself.

It is the right message that the users got.

    And Yes, it is legit.

So you need not worry about it.

Let the users use the service the way they are supposed to.

    Cheers.

The notification you got is an informative notification. It just lets you know what the system successfully worked on.

    Don't worry.

    Everybody gets this message.

On a side note, this message is much better and safe than the one we used to get earlier.
