Hello All,

I am migrating data from 2011crm to D365 , however all the record owners are set to my name by default? I want to keep the original user as owner(source), both are Microsoft crm and same users exist in both environments?

In D365 I have manually created user before proceeding this exerciser ,so GUID of owner in both environment is different. Can anyone please suggest me .

    Hi,

you can set ownerid field when creating a migrated record in the destination environment.. how you do it depends on the tool you are using.. looks like you'll have to map the id(or, in case with SSIS & Kingsway, for example, you might try using text lookup feature:

    Hi Tin,

can you tell us which migration tool/method you think to use? The answer depends on it.

As mentioned below it depends on the tool that you are using, but the one important thing as you mentioned above is the Guids of the user records in the source and target environment are different.

Since you probably have multiple entities for migration, I would recommend creating a temp table in your on-prem environment that has the Guid of the users in OnPrem and Online, and update them in your migration package using a lookup control (in the case of SSIS) or other option based on your migration solution (SCRIBE, etc...)

    Hope this helps.
