117We are attempting to install Project Accounting and we are getting the error "Product 258 does not support upgrading from version 8.0" when running GP Utilities.
From my understanding, my client attempted to use Project Accounting, Encumbrance and HR before when their GP was implemented. However, when upgrades were done, these modules were not installed since they were not using them. Now they want to use it in GP2016 and when you try to install these modules their come up with the errors on upgrading. We managed to fix Encumbrance and HR by removing the products from the Dynamics..DB_Upgrade table and the other DU0000XX tables . However on Project Accounting we tried the same but we are getting the same error message. We have noticed that even if you delete the row with PRODID = 258 and db_name = 'Dynamics', each time you run GP Utilities this row is being recreated.
Has anyone encountered this error and was able to resolve it? We have tried following what is on this KB article https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/952379/how-to-uninstall-project-accounting-in-microsoft-dynamics-gp-when-you but to know avail. We also tried the solution suggested on this issue https://community.dynamics.com/gp/f/32/t/78964 but still same results.
