I am not sure if this is the correct forum, but I thought I would start here. I have a client that is going to Great Plains from MIP and they have a very unique payroll calculation. I need to know what are some good inexpensive products they can use for their calculation.
a sample of how they calculate is as follows:
User A works the following hours in 1 week:
(This is only used to calculate the percentage for each program)
10 – Program A 25%
5 - Program B 12.5%
15 – Program C 37.5%
10 – Program D 25%
User A salary for a week is as follows:
$2000 – salary
$400 – Benefits
$400 – Taxes
$2600 Total Payroll Cost for User A
Allocation of Salary, Benefits and taxes to Programs A-D
25% * $2600
12.5% * $2600
37.5% * $2600
25% * $2600

I have done some looking around to find a solution to your question. This is the information that has been passed on to me.
"The payroll product does allocate based on the time/where the user worked. If you set the "programs" up as a department or postion, which you can change at the transaction entry, then based on the hours entered for the pay period, the system automatically calculates the allocation. If this does not sufice, you may want to check out the advanced payroll product as well. Thanks"
