Asset management Mobile App

Hi there!

As you may know, in 10.0.33 update for Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, released in April 2023, we’ve got a remarkable new mobile application for the Asset Management functionality.

I have conducted a few experiments to investigate the capabilities of the application and evaluate its potential for usage. I am happy to share the results I obtained, which you can find on my blog through the following link: https://d365today.blogspot.com/2023/06/asset-management-mobile-app-for.html

During provide the testing, I came across some strange behavior. Perhaps, someone knows the reason and the solution to the problem I experienced.

As part of my example, I created a work order in Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management and scheduled it for a worker. As a result of scheduling, the fields /Scheduled start/ and /Scheduled end/ were filled. I’ve started processing the work order in the mobile application, and changed its status to /In progress./ Therefore, the /Actual start/ field was determined in Mobile app and in Dynamics 365 SCM as well. But it did not reflect the actual date and time when I changed the status. The /Actual start/ field took the value of the /Scheduled start/ field. A similar situation occurred with the /Actual end/ field when I changed the work order status to /Completed./ It became equal to the value of the /Scheduled end/ field.

Does somebody have any thoughts on this?

I will be glad for any ideas.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Mohamed!
When I've found those settings I believe that this is It, this is the answer! But unfortunately the did not change anything.
Just checked one more time. Tested to absolutely same work orders with those checkboxes turned on and turned off.
Unfortunately with the very same result. In both cases Actual start = Scheduled start and Actual end = Scheduled end.

do you have any updates or findings since you`ve encountered this issue?

The new Asset management enhancements feature in v10.0.39 includes new functionality for how the actual end date is defaulted.

Supervisors can now configure how the work order end date should be defaulted when changing the work order state. Choose between the scheduled/expected end date (current behavior) and actual end date (new option).

    Thank you Geno DeChancie!
There wasn't such information in Preview od D365 SCM article. I'll check if my problem has been solved in 10.0.39.
