Resource Line on a Purchase Order

Hi,

I've found that when putting a Resource line on a P.O. and posting a Shipment, there is not posting to the GL.  When the Invoice is posted, the GL is updated.

Is this the expected behavior?  I would expect the Purchases account and AP to be updated.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

This is the normal behavior of the Dynamics NAV.

As you receive the purchase order, NAV will only update the Inventory (if cost posted to G/L is not activated in the inventory setup) and when you post the invoice with the actual cost it will update the G/L accounts.

In some case some companies required to update the G/L at the time of receiving the purchase order. That functionality also available in the Dynamics NAV. To do that you required to activate it in the Inventory Setup.

Once you activated it NAV will post the expected cost to G/L at the time of receiving the purchase order and once you invoice with the actual cost NAV will automatically update the expected cost posted to G/L with the actual cost if there is any difference in the cost.

    Hi,

Your answer pertains to receiving an INVENTORY item. My question is in regards to receiving a RESOURCE item.

The article does not talk about a resource. Any other thoughts?

    Thanks

    Steve
