Periodic Discounts - Mix and Match - POS not responding

Colleagues,

I have a customer who is using "Dynamics AX 2012 R3 CU13" for their retail operations, the recently started to use Mix and Match Discounts, I have the following promotions:

Option I: Buy 15 pieces of specific item category and get the least expensive 3 for free

Option II: Buy 25 pieces of specific item category and get the least expensive 6 for free

Straightforward "2" Mix & Match promotions, everything is setup and I used to check "Discount Code Required" for the discount to be applied and things are working perfectly.

Now the customer asked to remove "Discount Code Required" and automate this promotion, every time I scan 15 items (the number that starts the promotion) the POS system hangs and will go into infinite loop.

I read about this allover the posts and realized that this behavior should've been solved in my version as this is the reason I upgraded from CU7, but obviously I am still getting this.

Any ideas where to look?

Which POS used? EPOS or MPOS? Can you please show me the discount setting on retail parameters? Have you get any failed event log for this issue?

It is better you can log a new Microsoft service request to double check this with support team.

If I was at your place, I would recommend checking the performance of the POS and store server. The kind of promotion you specified would definitely put a lot of pressure on the system as it would check if a promotion is valid whenever you add a new item to the transaction. I would recommend you calculate the discount at the end of transaction instead of doing it on scanning each item. This feature can be enabled from the functionality profile and adding the "calculate discount" operation to your screen design.

Hi,

Did you try to use 'Retail discount calculator' inside AX2012 itself and test, if calculator can calculate discount well or also goes into the loop?

As retail pricing engine is shared between AX and Retail, behavior should be the same. If it is different, then POS issue reason can be something different, not discount infinite loop
