Production Wave Automatically Picked (No Work created) if already in Production Input Location

Hi,

We are facing an issue since we've updated into D365FO version 10.0.30 with creating picking work for production orders.

When processing the production wave no work is created anymore (before update work was created)for items which are already in the 'Default production input location'. Before work was created for these items with the same pick as put location.

Since the update no work is created anymore, so checking the wave processing log it mentions:

Checked setup for wave processing, but didn't find any setting for this.

Anybody facing the same issue and found a solution?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Nick,

Don't have 10.0.30 so cant test or reproduce but curious as to what the Production Wave's Status is?  'Picked'?

If so, did you check that there is no work that was automatically processed.  Or that BoMLine item was not already in the resource input location?

    Hi Danny,

Wave status is 'held', once released al other items (work is created for items which are not on the 'Default Production Input Location') can be picked. Checking the work creation history log the items which is on hand on the 'Default Production Input Location', are not mentioned at all.

It seems the deviation is made while processing the wave, which is is also mentioned in the wave processing history (see printscreen in the original post).

About your question 'Or that BoMLine item was not already in the resource input location?'. There is no resource input location specified, so system is using 'Default Production Input Location' from the warehouse setup. Yes, the item is in this location, but previsously work was still created with the same pick and put location. Problem now is the fact that work is not created and Bom line automatically gets status picked.

    Hello Nick,

Wave processing work to "Pull" the items from the locations where the item is stocked to the location where the item is needed.  If your item is in the default Production Input Location, the demand-supply equation will simply be resolved without work being required.  You can test by moving this item to another location and releasing again, or by changing that Default Production Input Location to another value.

The status of <Picked> is probably driven by this setup on the warehouse:
