I have a client on GP 2013 R2 and have been for a while but just recently, there are certain standard objects (e.g. Payables Transactions) that are empty including the default. If we choose to select columns, none are available. This is also happening with some HR objects. It happens for every user regardless of the workstation.
Any ideas?

In order to troubleshoot this issue. Can you run the sql profiler to check what is happening in the back end when selecting this smartlist it will give you some information.
Have you checked the non-unicode region language of users machines? Sometimes it will occurs due to GP SQL server language is mismatch with users machines region language.
So, please verify the region and language settings in both working and non-working computers and change it to same language.
