Management Reporter Multi-Entity Data Consolidation

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by

Here is the scenario:

8 different entities and consequently 8 different GP servers and installs.

1 overall Board of Directors that needs to view consolidated data across all 8 entities.

On a previous project, I have used the Reporting Tree to create consolidated reports across multiple GP Company databases that were on the same SQL server and under the same DYNAMICS database.

In this example, each company database is on its own SQL server under its own DYNAMICS db.

Any ideas on how do I consolidate data this time? Am open to other suggestions other than Management Reporter as well.

Navin, are you using the Legacy or Datamart feature in MR?  I can envision populating the data mart with numbers from each of your GP instances and reporting off that, although this would be an unsupported configuration since the data mart supports connection to only one database.  You would have to create your own data mart update scheme from each of the separate databases.

Just found the article you need to go thru.  Jivtesh Singh put the article out there, but he is referencing information from April Olson from the CPM team.  I think this should meet your needs.

Thank you Susan. This reply helped. I did not realize that you could have multiple ERP instances into the same Data Mart. Basically, you have to go to File > Configure while in the ERP integrations form to add additional ERP sources and instances.

    Hello Frank,

As per the link below, from what I understood that you could have multiple GP ERP instances integrated in the same Data Mart. I wasn't able to test it yet but I saw the option to add another instance. Yes, definitely have to ensure that the data mart is updated with each GP db from their own respective SQL instances.
