Stopping inter company orders editing in two way chain orders

Hi,

There is company A which creates PO to inter company vendor B.

Based on the setup a SO is created in company B.

Now is there a way to stop the users in company B updating the SO and adding more items.

If you cannot find any functionality out of the box, there is always the option to change the forms with a developer to lock editing for the tables, after your criteria is met for blocking them out.

Invoicing the SO would lock certain fields on the PO as explained in this blog entry, so there is something already in place. You may check the code for that to see how to implement it in a more generic way, to cover your requirements.

Thanks! for the reply.

I think its not there out of the box and you simply cant stop the selling side to edit the So which eventually changes the original PO.

In 3 way direct delivery order chain there is a way to stop adding items and making changes to inter company orders by controlling the check mark allow indirect creation.

But it seems it simply cant be controlled for two way chain.

Hi Sagar Suman,

Check whether the "Indirect order lines" option in the customers details form is selected. If its selected then deselect it so that once the PO/SO is created with some lines we cant add new lines.

In vendor company

Goto Accounts Receivables->All Customers->open customer->Miscellaneous details

Hi Praveen,

This is for three way inter company chain.

1 - Company A sells to customer C. (Original sales order in company A)

2 - Company A buys from company B ( PO in company A)

3 - Company B sells to company A via direct delivery ( Inter company sales order wrt company A)

This does not work for two way chain

1 - Company A buys from company B ( PO in company A)

2 - Company B sells to company A (SO in company B)

It does not work here.

The solution is still to implement some sort of blocking logic by changing the SalesTable/PurchTable forms to lock the datasources for editing, when certain conditions are met, i.e. you've confirmed the order.

Yes I agree with your suggestion and we are looking for customizing the system for this as it is not available from out of the box.
