Type (Item) changes order as No. is entered, how can I stop that?

HI, I enter orders from customers in NAV, but when I add the reference number of the item it jumps up or down, it is sorting itself numerically and I just want it to stay in the position I enter it.

Is there a way to stop this? Under ' Lines' I see options for Line, Functions, Order etc but don't know if that will change it.

Thanks

Peter

    Peter,

Are you stating that if I create a Sales Order to a customer, on the Sales Line, select Type = Item, the No. field jumps up and down vs. allowing me to select or enter an Item No.

    Steve,

No, I can enter (item / catalog) numbers in the Item line, but after I select a quantity, Nav sorts it into numerical order I think (lowest to highest number) , but I need it to stay where it is, because if you have a long list from the customer and you start typing it in but the order changes, you don't know what the last item was that you entered.

    Peter,

Ugh. You can sort lowest to highest or Highest to lowest. You can find as you type but remembering the last entry NAV does not have this feature.

If this is truly a critical requirement, you could connect with your Partner to create a customization.

    Thanks,

    Steve
