Changing a Customers Currency

Posted on by 5

Hi,

I'm a new user of Nav and hoping someone might be able to advise me.

I'm trying to change a customers currency from Euro to Polish Zloty. I have the currency setup in Nav but it wont let me apply it to the customer account. Am I correct in saying I need to create a new customer in NAV for this to work as since the current customer has had previous sales in Euro Nav is rejecting the change due to the historic activity on the account?

Thanks,

David

You should be able to change the Currency Code on Customer card. It is only used a default Currency on journals or documents.

What you probably need is the Application between Currencies in Sales & Receivables Setup.

    RE: Changing a Customers Currency

You should not need to set up a new account as you will still want to see all the historical data and makes reporting difficult as it is over 2 accounts.

Setting the currency on the customer card is just the default it will use on documents if left blank it will default the the organization's local currency.

You should be able to change it if you have set up the currency correct on the customer card and can change it on any documents manually to use any other currency for that transaction.

So if the customer uses 2 currencies set 1 on the card and you have to manually chang it to the other on the document
