BC - Approval Workflow with multiple levels having two or more approvers in each

Hello Community

I need to send Purchase Orders to be approved in two stages

Level 1 has 2 approvers - either one approves need to move to the 2nd Level

Level 2 has 3 approvers - either one approves the document need to be Released

In case any approver rejects the PO at any level, the document has to be set to Open.

Please guide me on the workflow setup with the events, conditions and responses.

I have gone through many YT videos, blogs and forums here but could not find that matches the requirement except the one below but the answer is not quite clear and not been verified.

Hi Andres,

Set up the workflow user group as follows

the user group shall include all approvers level 1 , 2 , and 3

for level one approval set the sequence number to 1 for both approvers

for level two approval set the sequence to number 2 for all 3 approvers

set the Purchase order workflow approval type to user group and select the user group you created in step 1

BC will send the e-mail approval for level one approvers at the same time, if one of them approves, then BC will send the e-mail approval request to approvers in level 3 all at the same time.

Hi there,

Just wondered if you had found a solution to your 2 level approval workflow? I have a similar problem, and have tried the solution suggested to your question, but it doesnt work - Using this suggested solution, it requires all users in level 1 to approve before moving to the 2nd level - which doesnt work for me. If you did find a solution, please can you post it. Many thanks. Anne

Hi Anders,

Create user group with level 1 as sequence 1 and level 2 users as sequence 2, then implement as below

Revert all the workflow conditions to the original way they were then implement as below

The way this is setup, the sequence 1 will work okay and any user can approve for level 1 and request sent to level 2.

Then the first condition will check if seq = 2 and if number of approved requests is greater than 1.

Ensure the below response to fully approve the record after number 2 is done
