Auto numbering unique id to a record

In our system we provide a id to every Opportunity record. We are using the autonumber entity & a workflow associated with this to implement this. We are facing a major issue, like the workflow sometimes provide same id to different records created at the same time. Can u people help me with a code (plugin or workflow activity) to get rid off this issue ?? Thanks in advance.

    With Dynamics 365 V9.0 released, you have an option to achieve this auto-number, kindly follow the link mentioned below

    There are some free open source Auto Number solutions available. You can use any of these. If you want to write your own code, you could download the source code and then update it a per your needs.
