CRM Dynamics - what certifications and how to train?

Posted on by 80

Hi, everybody. I am a freelance consultant/project manager and have been implementing CRM Dynamics since 2011. I have no IT education, but worked as project manager, consultant, trainer, administrator and even basic developer on CRM projects. However, I would like to get certified. My knowledge of CRM is patchy - I know some things in detail, but then I don't know other areas. I want to get certified in order to win more CRM projects and manage CRM work more effectively - sometimes I don't have CRM Developer available, so I want to be able to replace him if required for small jobs.

Could you advice me what certifications I should look at, how I should prepare myself for certification, how long it would take? I have experience with CRM Dynamics 2011, 2015 and 2016 (currently working)

Thanks a lot

    CRM Dynamics - what certifications and how to train?
    To master CRM Dynamics, aspiring professionals can pursue certifications like the Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Fundamentals or the Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Customer Service Functional Consultant Associate. Training options include online courses, official Microsoft training modules, and specialized certification programs offered by accredited institutions. Comprehensive study of CRM Dynamics through these certifications equips individuals with in-depth knowledge and practical skills, empowering them to excel in deploying and managing Dynamics 365 solutions effectively.

    If you’re looking to expand your client base and start working with more complex projects then functional certification is a must. While, you might not need it directly, having a deep understanding of the module’s functionality can certainly increase the quality of the services you provide, as it helps to foresee possible challenges and roadmap a proper implementation/configuration pattern at the beginning stages of the project. To dive deeper into why functional certification is necessary I suggest you check this link. Hopefully, I was of help.

    This topic has been a while. The certifications have changed.

    Being a Project/Programme Manager, it was rare when I needed to do something myself, mainly discuss technical elements with consultants and architects and then explain to the client. Therefore, I feel Functional Consultant certifications are probably not essntial though impress clients.

    I recently passed MB-300 and now training for MB-200, but won't be preparing for functional consultant certifications unless there is a good reason for taking one.

    RE: CRM Dynamics - what certifications and how to train?

    I see that the links are quite outdated. For all the people who have come here, looking for getting started with Microsoft Dynamics CRM (Dynamics 365 Hub), you can choose to go with training from experts.

    You can avail training from:

    1. Microsoft Virtual Academy
    2. Other Training Vendors/Partners

    Whilst many certifications exist, depending on your area of expertise and interest, you can choose either of the certifications available. Below are some certifications:

    Microsoft Dynamics 365

    • 55242 Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customization and Configuration

    Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016

    • 80729 Customization and Configuration for Dynamics CRM 2016
    • 80736 Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 Online Deployment
    • 80802 Sales Management in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 Update 1
    • 80887 Customer Service in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 Update 1

    For the reader, since you seem to derive from a PM background, learning functional aspects would be a good help for your career. If you are looking for functional or technical or administrative training on the same, you can refer to Microsoft Dynamics CRM Training.

    And update - got confused in MS training websites: the actual training is in MS University, not Academy.

    Hi, everybody. I got access to Microsoft Virtual Academy and now ready to start training. However, I cannot find the courses for CRM Dynamics such as MB2-713 MB2-714 certifications, I only found introduction to CRM Dynamics 2013. Could you advice me please how to find them or give me a link?

    Thank you very much

    If you do consider the MB2-712 exam then this revision guide might help you;

    neilparkhurst.com/.../mb2-712-certification-microsoft-dynamics-crm-2016-customization-and-configuration-revision-guide

    You can setup a 30-day free CRM trial solution that will help with your prep;

    All the exams are multiple choice questions.

    Microsoft Official Practice Exam

    tell me about the format of Microsoft exams - is it a set of questions (if so then how many, is it selecting correct answer from several or free to write, is there a time limit etc.), is it a practical exam (given several tasks and then need to perform in a training environment).

    Please see Microsoft certification exam details page for the exam which you are planning. You can find details like number of questions, time and division of topics the exam will cover.

    In general one need to select the correct answer. They don't ask for writing details or doing some practical.

    Thank you all for the replies. Unfortunately, I still feel I am walking in the woods. I found an organisation that may provide me access to their sandbox environment so that I could practice CRM Dynamics configuration/customisation skills. I also saw several books for MS Dynamics 2016 on Amazon. However, where I could get some practice questions?
