Upgrading database from GP 10 to 2010

Posted on by 150

I am currently using GP version 10.

I installed 2010 on a new server, but it can't access the backup file of the version 10 company.

I understand there is 3 script files that are necessary to convert the database.

Where can I download them.

Are you moving you SQL server? If so you need to scripts the logins fromn old server and then run the results on new server.

What GP 10 SP are you in? Better to upgrade to SP5 and then goto 2010.

Even that path has some issues with HR and Payroll modules.

You need install Gp 2010 Sp1 and run utilities. After that U need upgrade to SP2(R2) and then run utilities.

    I hope this helps you.

There are detailed instructions on how to perform an upgrade to GP 2010 published on the Upgrade Information for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 page on CustomerSource.  Why does everyone think they can do an upgrade without reading instructions?  :-)

Script files to do what? Database upgrade? If yes database upgrade should be performed using Dynamics GP Utilities.

Restore your databases to your new server and run the GP 2010 Utilities, it ill automatically upgrade.
