Dear All,
At our company we issue an invoice sending it to the warehouse, the warehouse contact the customer and deliver the equipment along with the invoice, and get us the signature of the customer on the delivery note, the accounts department will post the same day we receive the signed delivery note. However, there is always a period of one or two day delay between the invoice date and the posting date, this difference is acceptable in general. In some cases which are about 5% of our total invoices, there is a delay in delivery; this delay may be because of the customer himself, this delay in delivery may reach in some cases a period of month. The problem that I am facing, is that when accountants post those delayed invoices, the GL will be affected for a previous periods, this means that when I report sales of January of 1 million, this report will change later to be 1.5 million because of the new postings, and this is not justified in my opinion.
What do other companies using GP do in this case? Shall I for example collect the undelivered invoices for a certain month and reissue them again with a new date for example?
Thank you

I would be carefull with this to avoid having reconciliation issues between AR and GL if we performs the reconciliation monthly.
Waleed, your accountants, prior to posting the invoice, should open the Date Entry window (click on the blue arrow to the right of the date field) and change the Posting Date. This date determines when the transaction posts to the GL.
