Categorizing Account types

As I'm trying to figure out Dynamics and if it will fit our needs I find that it seems limited in that many "type" fields are single items rather than Tags if you will.

Therefore I would like to know some suggestions on how best to configure it.

For example I think the Account Entity has a field named (incorrectly IMHO since some accounts are not customers-i.e. manufacturer, manufacturer rep, distributor, subcontractors, etc.) CustomerTypeCode.

We have many Accounts that have multiple "types":

Customers who are also Friends or Family

Subcontractors who are also customers

Manufacturers who are also distributors

Vendors who are also customers

So how can these scenarios be handled "properly"?

Also does Dynamics have a way of "tagging" accounts and/or contacts?  For example tag a contact as the person to invoice or the person to schedule service with, tag a location as having a certain product installed for future emails/marketing, etc.?

I have the same question (0)

Usually you would create yout own custom 'type' fields for each of the entities.

    Hi partner,

If a record can have multiple types/tags, then I would recommend you create a MultiSelect Option Set field.
