Business Central Admin Center functionality changed?

On Friday of last week when going to the Business Central Admin Center -> Apps or Sessions list, you could interact with a column header and have the list resort Asc or Desc based on that column.

Today when i go to the Apps or Sessions & interact with a column header I get a new option I have never seen before. Now instead of resorting the list, a new dorp down option is shown for Resizing the Columns or resetting column width. However, there is now no way to sort the columns which is extremely useful for finding and Identifying active sessions when a database locking scenario occurs.

Is there a way to get Columns sorting back as an option in the BC Admin Center UI on these pages again?
I have the same question (4)

    Hey,

Yeah that's kinda weird though that the sorting option is removed or is not directly accessible.

I too searched for it but did not find any Microsoft article, blog, forum post, or video that directly explains the new behavior you’re seeing where clicking a column header in Admin Center → Apps / Sessions shows a column-resize menu instead of sort options.

Let's wait until Microsoft documents it publicly.

    Hope this helps though.

    Hello,
This is not something you can fix or configure—it’s a recent UI change/regression in the Business Central Admin Center. Column header sorting on Apps and Sessions has been removed and replaced by the resize/reset menu, with no current option to sort columns anymore. Microsoft hasn’t documented this as intentional, so it’s likely a bug or unfinished change. For now, admins must rely on filters, search, or Admin Center APIs/PowerShell for session analysis. The only real solution is for Microsoft to restore sorting via an update, so raising a support ticket or Idea is recommended.

Hi, I tested it too, and it really doesn't work... 😑
We can only wait for Microsoft to resolve this...

    Thanks.

I tested it again, and it's not just the places you mentioned; the columns in all functions are unsortable, including Environment and Operations.

    Hello,

Thank you everyone for the replies!

I had also search through all recent release documentation looking for any notice of the change. Glad to hear we are not the only ones experiencing this. Also sad to hear we are not the only ones. Will be watching for a future update from MSFT to document & hopefully add the sort by options to the new UI object.

    Hi,
For everyone perhaps following this thread, as i myself did, the issue seems to have been fixed / a reimplementation of sorting in the admin center:
(To switch up which way to sort, you just reselect "sort" from the dropdown)
