Approved time entries stuck

Posted on by 64

Hi everyone

All of a sudden our approved time entries are not reflected in projects. We found out today that they are listed under the (Processing Approvals) view.

The entries were approved by the designated project approval and it's been stuck for almost a week now.

Any ideas where to look?

Thanks

We found ourselves facing this same problem today and this resolved our issue. Thank you! Out of curiosity, if this was tied to the Wave 1 rollout, have you noticed anything else that we should be aware of?

I was able to figure it out. Although this article applies to Project Operations, it worked for us.

    1. Find the solution (Project Service Automation /  msdyn_ProjectService_Patch_1 ) in your environment
    2. Within the solution there is a cloud flow (Project Service - Recurrently Schedule Project Approval Sets) - We had to turn this on and ran it once then all pending approvals were successfully processed.

Not sure if it has any relation to Wave 1 2022. But hopefully, this helps someone else.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Approvals that are queued for processing are visible in the Processing Approvals view. The system tries to process all the entries multiple times asynchronously, including retrying an approval if previous attempts failed.

It is recommended to check the status of the asynchronous service in your environment and manage it based on the status.

    Here is the documentation:

Asynchronous service (Microsoft Dataverse) - Power Apps | Microsoft Docs

Or you can raise a support ticket for further help.
