Email Activity created but did not send any email to the to party

Hi,

I have created/integrated email activity using Scribe Insight. It just created in Activity tables with status as Open even though I have an additional step to update it as Sent. Email did not send to the TO party. Am I missing something here? Do I need to update any field to fire email send event during creation/integration of Email Activity?

I am using Server Side Sync for both Incoming/Outgoing email settings. The email will only go the party when I open the activity in CRM and click on SEND button. Then it goes. I feel there shouldn't be any problem with From/To mail boxes as they are working fine for the same email activity that has been created/integrated. I just need to open it and click SEND manually in CRM. Instead of that, I am looking for an option to send email as soon as I it integrated via Scribe. Any thoughts?

    Hi,

Actually I don't have any experience about Scribe, but you have to set "IssueSend" field "true" to send email

There is no such field on Activity entity or ActivityParty table. I don't know where to refer it.

    Hi VJ,

I'm not sure how Scribe works either, but there are two different requests in CRM:

     - Create request

     - SendEmail request

Just like with the workflows - you can create an email record using "Create record" action, and it won't be sent. You have to use "send email" action instead.

What you are describing sounds like you are using "create" request there, so you need to figure out if Scribe supports "send" request.. Might make sense to ask this question in the Scribe community forums:

    success.scribesoft.com/s

Here is what I just found there, so, maybe, it's just not supported?

    Hi VJ,

"IssueSend" is not field on any entity. This is "SendEmailRequest" property that indicate that email sent or just create as sent.

Do you have any integration code on Scribe? Maybe you can add some additions with code.

As I told before I don't have any experience about Scribe but probably your integration code create email records as "Draft" status (you can check record on MS CRM UI).

    If integration create email records "Draft" status, you have 2 options;

    • You can change your integration flow or code (if you can and change statuscode to "Pending send", or add some codes to send email with "SendEmailRequest")
    • You can create a workflow on "email record CREATE event" and update status "draft" to "Pending Send"

You can find more information about state/statuscode details on https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn531157.aspx#BKMK_Email

I managed with a separate custom workflow (provided by Lottimer jlattimer.blogspot.com/.../crm-email-workflow-utilities.html). Here what I did. I created Email activity with Draft status and after that I added one more additional step in Scribe to trigger Workflow to send email (Lattimer's). It worked.
