I'm trying to move my existing Great Plains 4.0 software and primarily the database to a new laptop.
I could not locate any documentation to support this process on the website. I link to the steps involved would be greatly appreciated.

Leslie is correct Dennis follow the steps in KB878449 to move the databases over. If you are referring to the GP installation code folder you need in install GP on the new server.
Dedy, the program software and database reside on a single desktop computer. There is a folder in GP for SQL. Are you referring to another location for the SQL Server database?
Hi Dennis
1. Backup Database on SQL Server
2. Backup GP Folder
3. Install SQL Server on laptop and import from backup
4. Restore GP Folder with same location on server
