How to send Fax

Hi Guru,

I want to send fax from within Dynamics so that an activity is recorded. What are the possible options/approaches for it.

Can i send fax through email activity ?

Please guide.

The out of the box activity types inside Dynamics contain "fax" but it just a way to store the information (so no actual fax is sent)

If you have already a service that is able to send faxes you need to check if they offer an integration with Dynamics 365 or at least some API to interact with their service (but in this case you will need to build something to sync the data between your fax service and dynamics)

Thank you for your responding.

I am looking at efax solution (www.efax.com/how-it-works). The solution they are offering is sending emails from within dynamics.

The only issue i am facing is that the current email form TO field does not accept [faxnumber]@efax.com in it. It only accepts, contact, accounts and etc.

How can i save [faxnumber]@efax.com in To field.

Please guide or suggest other approach.

Ok understood your problem,
solution is easy, you need to enable the sending of emails to unresolved email recipients.

Go to Settings (if you are using https://make.powerapps.com/ go first to the wheel in the top right corner and click "Advanced settings") -> Administration -> System Settings -> tab Email -> scroll down to "Set Email form options" and set "Allow messages with unresolved email recipients to be sent" to Yes.

After you will be able to put the email address as recipient

Thank you for providing details. However, it is still not working.

I enable the it in system settings.

Now if typing "415897566@efax.com" and focusing out from TO field, it is clearing it.

I have no suggestions, if you record a small clip to show exactly what is happening (and just to be sure that no custom javascript events are attached to that fields) maybe other users can help.

Try typing "415897566@efax.com;" ends with semi colon.

First thing to do is ... enable the sending of emails

In the setting there is option of Advanced settings then follow these -> Administration -> System Settings -> tab Email -> scroll down to "Set Email form options" and click it to the "Allow messages with unresolved email recipients to be sent" to Yes. hope this help and also, use free fax templates from here ..
