Rewriting it is an option which I did a couple of years back for another requirement. I wrote it in Crystal and I tell you it's not easy, knowing the tables and fields then creating the date parameters & formulas will be a challenge. Goodluck!

Unfortunately there is no alternative. I believe you could modify the existing report to take the Returns into account but you'd need to have fairly strong Report Writer skills to do so. It probably would be easier to create such a report in Crystal or SRS.
